During the brief time I could get back in the studio between lockdowns, this piece emerged. I allowed myself to experiment freely without a plan or design, building layers of Bullseye glass powders and fusing at different temperatures. Amusingly it sums up the last year pretty well with a little fuck and a vein of silver leaf kintsugi offering a glimmer of hope. The freehand pattern brushing through the layers at the back reminds me of the shape of the spores on the coronavirus. This is piece is one-of-a-kind - it took days of layering and multiple firings so I honestly couldn't replicate it if I tried! A commemoration of coronavirus, may it please go away soon.
